So, post Roatan and the family flying back to Florida, I have stayed as busy as ever. I am now teaching 4th grade instead of helping Golden out with second. There are only 13 kids in my class, which makes it a lot easier than trying to teach 23 monkey second graders. Although, the fourth graders are kinda crazy too. But in a I can't help but laugh sort of way! And there have also been a lot of people who have come to visit lately. A group of girls from Puerto Cortes came a few Sundays back and we had church and a small cookout with them. And this really sweet lady, Caroline, from Mississippi has recently moved in at the Salt and Light Clinic and is going to stay for the next three months or so. I also met a girl who works with ywam, and it was totally interesting to talk to her and to see what her job entails. And then, yesterday, the girls and I finally climbed the mountain that has been taunting me for the past five months! It was so amazingly, exciting! Woo Woo! Machetes in hand we trekked up the side of that beast in no time! Just now as i was sitting here typing this, an iguana showed up on our front step. Leah and I are about to go for a walk on this "just another beautiful Saturday in Honduras."

The Beautiful Island of Roatan!

My parents, my cuz, Brittany, and I were able to vacation on Roatan while they were here in Honduras with me. We had such an amazing time! We stayed at the calvary chapel, Roatan, Sonrise missionary Inn for the four nights we were on the island. And we got to hang out with some kids from YWAM who will be spending the next couple months in Honduras. We attended their church service Sunday and it was awesome to see what the Lord is doing on Roatan! The family and I were also able to enjoy the beautiful mountains and beaches of Roatan and we snorkeled and swam in the crystal clear waters to our hearts content! Although I definitely wasn't ready to leave when the time came.

Wow! I can't believe i haven't posted anything for over a month! Time is continuing to fly by and I think it's crazy that i have been here for almost four months now! It sure doesn't seem like that long! A couple of weeks ago I was able to fly home and visit beautiful Florida and spend time with my amazing family! (And of course my wonderful critters too) It is so true that you don't realize what you've got til it's gone! I realize now more than ever how truly blessed I am. So here are some catch up pictures... hope you enjoy them!

A week ago the girls and I were able to take a little road trip to Copan, which is about 3 and a half hours away from the lake. We got there after dark on Friday, and spent that night and the night after in a cute little hotel called Calle Real. We all had so much fun exploring the little town, just walking around, and poking around tourist shops. And Saturday we were able to take a bus ride to some nearby hot springs. We also saw the Mayan Ruins which were incredible! Definitely the highlight of the trip for me! These pictures i got of the ruins do not do them justice! But yeah... the trip was an awesome, memorable one!

Yesterday we had church at one of the teacher's parent's house. It was amazingly beautiful right by a creek! After church they threw a party for Leah and we had a pinata, a cake, and the whole works! After the party we all went and played volleyball at the Baptist camp again. The whole day was a blast... and the weekends here are such a blur and go by way too fast! Anyhoo... here are some of the photos i took of our day.

We were blessed enough to be able to visit and play with the kids at a nearby orphanage yesterday afternoon. It was an amazing time! Even though they were sick and not feeling good the kids were still so lovable! It was really hard to leave... but i think we will be going back! There was even a capuchin monkey there of all critters! I was so happy i finally got to see my capuchin. He was too cute... although he was in a cage so i didn't get to hold him... but i think it still counts! After the orphanage we all drove to Santa Cruz and Chris treated us to crazy good ice cream!

We then decided to take the rover on a little road trip to Santa Cruz. Quite an interesting trip! We didn't exactly make it...but that's a whole other story. The only picture i have of that excursion is the calf and cow.

Oh my goodness.... this week has flown by. During the week i stayed very busy learning how to plan lessons, teach classes, and grade tests! I did have a very relaxing, chilled weekend though, to recuperate! I spent most of yesterday and today outside by the lake which was absolutely awesome. The view of the lake and the surrounding mountains is incredible! The pictures I have taken so far definitely don't do it justice! I'll have to take some good shots from the bridge and post them soon. But anyhoo... the kids at the school and in my class are so totally sweet! I have fallen in love with all of them! We made a human pyramid on Wednesday (I think that's what day it was.. i dunno.. it's a bit of a blur)! And the photos of the donkey (Clementine) were taken this evening. She just kind of wanders around the property in search of grub! The other teachers here are awesome! They are lots of fun to be around and just definitely my kinda chicas!

I am all moved into my new room in Golden and Michael's house! Avalon was nice enough to give up her bedroom for me, and I am so blessed by all of them being willing to make me a part of their familia! While Dad was here he put up some sweet shelves for me to hang all of my clothes on. They are working great Pop! Muchas gracias! School starts on Monday and I am so excited to meet all of the kiddos!
